VERSION 3.0 UPGRADE INFO!
To all Gann Grids Ultra owners (Basic and Advanced)............ Please be advised this is an upgrade to the older 2.0 format.
Also be advised as of 11/19/2007 all new downloads will consist of the 3.0 version. All programs downloaded before this date will need upgrade.
VERSION 6.0 UPGRADE INFO!
Attention all Gann Grids 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 Users!
Please be advised that As of December 2010 the "New" 6.0 upgrade of Gann Grids Basic, Ultra and Print versions have been released. Each Version is now compatible with both XP, Vista and windows 7 operating systems along with several new tool modifications (Please view the 6.0 users manuals for complete details).
Also understand that a small fee of $49.95 will be charged to all previous version users to upgrade to the 6.0 Basic and Advanced version systems.There is no fee for the "New" Gann Grids Print version upgrade at this time.
Upgrade Request
To upgrade from the 6.0 version please email me direct at pvtpoint@aol.com requesting upgrade along with your present version number and your existing 20 digit users code key for validation. Once received a special Paypal money request will be shortly sent to the email address on file for the $49.95 upgrade fee. After you recieve the new links just follow the upgrade instructions given within the new license agreement for easy integration.
IMPORTANT!.... You will be sent 2 download links with your purchase, 1 for XP and 1 for Vista.
Windows 7 link and Vista's link has been combined to save space!
If you have Windows 7 just click on the Vista download link.
Also Please download the new 6.0 users manual from Gann Grids ultra page as several options have changed.
For FIRST TIME downloads:
1. Download the "zip" file of the operating system version being used onto your desktop (or anywhere you recieve files).
2. "unzip" the GGU Basic or advanced V5 zip folder into a new folder on your desktop (or wherever you downloaded the zip file).
3. Run GGUSetup.exe in the folder where the files were extracted to, NOT from the zip folder itself (it will not work).
4. Important! ...Several "Version Conflicts" may pop up during installation. These are "yes" or "no" prompts and not errors. We recommend to keep all your old files when prompted by selecting "Yes".
See screen shot below for an example of the version conflict window.
For "BASIC" version owners upgrade:
1. Uninstall existing Gann Grids Ultra software (Start Menu, Settings or Control Panel, Add / Remove Programs).

INSTALLATION F.A.Q'S
How do I download Gann Grids Ultra?
Understand after purchase you will recieve within your users Licence Agreement 2 download links, one for Vista and one for XP, 2000, Please choose the operating system from the PC being used. After the choice has been made follow the links given then Select the option to “Save”, not “Open”. If your PC will not allow the download to occur, please disable your FIREWALL temporarily.
Once allowed save the zip file to a location you can easily remember such as your desktop. EXTRACT all files to an easily accessible folder. When the download is complete open the unzipped folder and Double Click GGUSetup.exe. This program will install the application.
Important information about FIREWALLS:
Pivot Point Research Inc recommends all PC's should have internet security software for its protection. Firewalls protect your PC from unwanted files and spyware. However if your Firewall is enabled you most likely will not be able to download and register GGU.
Since we at Pivot Point Research respect your computers privacy and security systems our software will not attempt to bypass your firewall via a backdoor to access our server on the internet.
For this reason we have made it the user’s responsibility to temporarily disable all firewalls for easy download and registrations. Most popular internet security suites usually allow firewalls to be disabled for up to 15 minutes which is more then enough time for registration. All that is needed for proper registration is to insert your user’s key in the registration form provided by us at Pivot Point Research Inc when prompted to do so.
Please check your PC's software security center for specific deactivation instructions. Also there is no need to disable spam killers, virus software or spyware protection as this will not interfere with the online setup. We recommend you keep everything up and running but your firewalls.
Why do I get an error message when I try to access GGU Help?
If you cannot run Help, you need to re-install WinHelp32 from Microsoft Downloads. If your operating system is XP, you must search for this program on the Microsoft website.
If your OS is Vista you most likley will not be able to access "Help" (F1) unless you have already installed WinHelp32 from Microsoft. Microsoft has discontinued pre-installing WinHelp32 as it did with XP and previous Windows versions.
Fortunately, as soon as you attempt to run "Help" Microsoft will notify you of this problem, and provide you with the solution. Follow the links and step-by-step instructions given by Microsoft. The instructions will even guide you through determining your edition of Vista.
Once you have WinHelp32 installed, you should be able to access Gann Grids Help (F1). However, if difficulties are still arising you may just want to download the 4.0 user’s manual given FREE at www.pvtpointmktres.com. All of the help file information is also included and highlighted within its pages.
Why GGU shuts down when I try to read a Metastock formatted security? The Metastock-owned component will only allow GGU to open one security at a time. The Metastock directory is locked while the information is in use so if you try to setup a second Gann chart using the same Metastock directory will result in an “assertion”, or locking error.
The solution is to open only one Gann chart at a time. However, if you receive the assertion error, GGU will shutdown and you will not be able to open another Metastock Gann chart unless you remove the locks.
To do this you must go to the Metastock directory and remove all the files with a “.tmp” extension. to do this Open “My Computer” and search for the directory where your Metastock data resides. Set your options so that you can view extensions. Delete all files ending in “.tmp”. Removing these files will unlock the securities.
Why can't I see the proper scales on my grid?
Gann grids requires "US" regional settings. If you are located in a country other than US, please check your "Control Panel" "Regional and Language" options. Verify that your settings are "English (US)" for dates, numbers and currencies. This settings must be applied prior to running Gann Grids. If you realize your settings are incorrect, close Gann Grids, change your settings and rerun Gann Grids.
Every time I run Gann Grids Ultra, I have to re-enter my product key.
This is a rare problem only seen with European clients. Please check your "Control Panel" "Regional and Language" options. Verify that your settings are "English (US)" for dates, numbers and currencies. Click on the "Language" tab. Clear the check box for “Install files for complex script and right to left languages”. Run Gann Grids Ultra and register your product key. Please contact pvtpoint@aol.com if this problem persists, making sure you provide your location, your version of Windows, and your product key.
